Material of the Week: 5.11.09 Trespa Panels

  1. Beware. Trespa panels are often on extended delivery times and if you have less than a 9 week lead in, expect trouble. We have had to choose alternatives.

  2. With regards to the meteon product used as an exterior rainscreen panel...

Trespa is a great product as far as the panels go, however the factory supplied subgirt attachment system is garbage. Trespa has now adoped a policy of forcing their subgirt system on its fabricators and installers. Take great care in making sure the canned details suit your project. Also this system can add a great deal of cost to the installed price. I would suggest finding a local fabricator that can adapt to field measurements rather than buying a pre-cut package.

  3. Trespa Certified fabricators offer custom subgirt/extrusion support systems and solutions. They also work to make sure that the proper ventilation and other supports are properly designed. Those applications where someone believes they will save money by ignoring the physical properties of the product discover that their arrogance leads to failures. Trespa' Certified Fabricators have many years cladding experience, and thankfully Trespa North America carefully regulates their selection and training to assure quality products are provided.
